Trilho, with Daniel Moreira

Following the line of work pursued around the representation of landscape and the concepts of path and territory, Daniel Moreira and Rita Castro Neves, present a group of works reflecting upon the experience they had in 2017, of walking 47 miles/ 75 km of the Portuguese Fisherman’s Trail at the Costa Vicentina, from Porto Covo to Odeceixe.
More than describing the trail, the aim is to think how can we effectively know a place: walking, studying, photographing, drawing. Juxtaposing different pieces and organizing them, the way someone mentally reorganises and connects, places. From the physical experience to the mental process, from tiredness to reflection, using documents and memory, in a movement between images drawn and photographed – from the trail, the studio, to the geological museum.

Special thanks to Pedro, João Gigante and Amigos do Mar Diving School.
