Ainda, um lugar, with Daniel Moreira

Ainda, um lugar (Still, a place) stems from the attempts to fathom a curve from a road in an Alentejo landscape. The attempts at knowing remake themselves in each piece, through close-ups and distanced shots, recurrences and discoveries, by day and by night, at different hours, through drawings, video, digital photography, slide and colour negative film, with different cameras, of different formats. For there are many paths to follow. In the exhibition, light boxes, projections, printed photos and drawings – some juxtaposed, others not – endeavour in a new path for the possibilities of a place which cannot be fixed. This mapping and remapping – of the road and the art work – enhance the subjective character of the proposal, revealing the fabric of a two-voiced dialogue. Continuing a first presentation of this project, with the exhibition um lugar (a place) held at the Fundação José Rodrigues’ library in Porto, in May and June 2017, the present exhibition expands a project that haunts us, stretched in time, like a time that can be expressed in a distance.
