Casa comum is an exhibition project developed by four artists in an artist residency at the 2nd edition of the Brazilian Photography Festival of Paranapiacaba.
The concept of a common house, cherished by all, unite the artists in residency, invited by the curator and festival director João Kulcsár. To be part of a residency together means to share purposes, spaces and time.
Common house reflects the idea that, quoting Ailton Krenak, “we have been alienating ourselves of this organism we make part of, the Earth, and we have started thinking that she is a thing and we are another: Earth and humanity”. The exhibition presents a meeting between drawings, photographs and moving images, drawn from the experience of being in the village and at the atlantic forest (“mata atlântica” Brazilian biome).
